Domestic Drain Clearance - The Fixed price
Clearance at a single domestic property of one blockage and any connected blockages.
Please note that this does not include properties on septic tanks.
There is no extra charge for the use of the high pressure water jetter or other specialist machines
We get half hour jobs and we get 3 hour jobs but the vast majority of jobs are around one hour. The charge is the same whatever. In effect, the easy jobs subsidise the hard jobs and vice versa.
When phoning around for quotes, please make sure that you are comparing like with like.
Some firms 'Fixed Price' is for rods only and the use of any machine costs substantially more.
Others may quote by the hour. Fair enough - but ask whether a full hour's charge is levied for parts of an hour.
7am to 4:30pm Weekdays ....£110 Plus VAT...= £132.00 Total
4:30pm to 8:30pm Weekdays as above plus 50%
8:30pm to 10:00pm Weekdays as above plus 100%
7am to 4pm Weekends and Bank Holidays as above plus 50%
4pm to 9pm Weekends and Bank Holidays As above plus 100%

We have to introduce a time element to these as we can't predict what we may find. The £110 charge just covers the first hour on site. Any time thereafter is at the reduced rate of £90 per hour but charged in ¼ hr increments (ie £22.50 per 1/4 hr)
7am To 4:30pm Weekdays 1st hr on site (Min Charge)..£110.00 Plus VAT = £132.00 Total
7am to 4:30pm Weekdays Additional time on site £22.50 per ¼ hr Plus VAT
4:30pm to 8:30pm Weekdays .... as above plus 50%
House Buyers Pre-Purchase Survey & Report
Site visit and preparation of a full report which includes a plan of the drainage layout, photos of defects, costing allowance of any recommended work and link to the movie.
The report is usually delivered via email as a pdf attachment with a link to the movie.
We can provide 'hard' copies for an extra charge
We base our costs on the number manholes there are:
Site visit and report for a house with just one manhole or access point worked from: £250 Plus VAT Each additional manhole or access point worked from: £50 plus VAT
An 'average' house might have 3 manholes which would give a total bill of £350 plus VAT
There are plenty of houses with just one manhole.
More than 7 is a rarety
CCTV Investigations & Drain Tracing
Cost for a two man team with the camera and tracing gear as well as a high pressure water jetter.
A link to the movie and a quote for any recommended work is free of charge but a formal report and drainage layout plan is extra.
